starting to get worried....

My surgery was on the 24th of may and i spoke to my Dr on the phone this afternoon. I felt great when i had talked to her but about 4 hrs ago i was outside and my boxer puppy went crazy and almost tripped me with her lead (she gets tied out in the yard to go potty) while i was throwing away some trash.

Needless to say i got really sore from the jolt she gave me. So i took my ibuprophine (600mg) and Have been laying down since. But now im feeling super dizzy, shakey, light headed, have a headache, am nauseous, and am having chest pain as well as serious abdominal pain. I am also having some bright red spotting.

My dh works nights and has already left for work (he works 45 miles from home). I don't know if i should seriously consider going into the er or wait and see if it passes after going to sleep... Im nervous, scared, and a bit concerned.... Anyone here experienced this before???

Re: starting to get worried....

Please either call or go to the ER. I would worry about the chest pain as that can be a symptom of a pulmonary embolism. If you call, ask to speak to the dr. on call. Make sure you mention your recent surgery, and don't wait for a call back. If you can't speak to the doctor right away see if you can get someone to drive you there. If it is a clot you need immediate attention.

Re: starting to get worried....

Just called my dr's office and the closest er and got told by both that i will have to wait for a call back from one of the on call Drs. They said call backs can take up to 2 hrs....

Re: starting to get worried....

If it were me, I'd just head on over to the ER. Chest pain is one of the things I was told to report immediately. It's possible that the chest pain has nothing to do with blood clots, but it's always better to err on the side of caution. A pulmonary embolism is very serious. I don't think I would wait 2 hours for a call back.
