Delayed reaction to Vivelle Dot?

I am 5 weeks out and right after surgery, my doctor put me on the Vivelle dot patch. In the first two weeks I had some itching but just right around my incision. At my checkup at 4 weeks, I told my doctor and she said it was the incision healing. Now I'm 5 weeks out and I am itching all over. I can't seem to find the source. I called the doctor and ask if I could take the patch off and just see if it could be that and she told me yes. I'm waiting to see if my rash goes away. Has anyone else had a delayed reaction to the vivelle dot? Can it cause a rash after 5 weeks?

Re: Delayed reaction to Vivelle Dot?

I haven't had that issue. It could be the patch but it could also be a sign of low estrogen. A lot of peri and post-menopausal women have this as a symptom.

Re: Delayed reaction to Vivelle Dot?

The patch caused my back to burn with intense pain. My doctor just switched me to Femtrace, I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Re: Delayed reaction to Vivelle Dot?

Thank you ladies...... I took off the patch a week ago and I switched to estradiol. The itching seems to have stopped. It took about 5 full days to get it out of my system though. I'm hoping this one will work!
