Re: estrogen and joint pain

I hear you about the joint pain im on patch to plus gel. My doct also claims the patch is safest. But does not opose the gel. My pain is in my hips. I am a runner but never had this until after surgery. I insisted on testing as my issues is the cost of co pays. I had so many issues and would not have known without reading and getting facts from professionals about hormones. And this site. My e level was 40 and I felt like old and worn out. Have you considered changing it one day sooner. Or going up to the one. If that is not an option I do take alot of omegas and cal d mag. It has seem to help. With more than just joint pain. And your primary care doc. Is an option to talk to for test hope this helps

I just started the .1mg patch today. I take cacium, vit. d,magnesium, vit.e and b6. I prob. need to add the omegas in too. I have pain in literally every joint in my body which totallly sucks. I am hoping that the increase in my patch will help. Time will tell I guess. Seems it is always a hurry up and wait game with the hormone stuff.

Re: estrogen and joint pain

update: So I have been using the .1 patch for a week now. It has made a world of difference to have that extra .25. Who would of thought. The only negative I have so far is that since upping my patch the vaginal dryness has now gone from slight to major dryness. I would have thought it would have helped it not made it worse. Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Re: estrogen and joint pain

I found the same thing with the patch for some reason. My skin and hair also get dry.

The lower the patch, the higher my libido and moisture. Premarin does not do this to me.

The only thing I can figure out is that the pure estradiol suppresses my testosterone more. Have no clue if that's right...

Re: estrogen and joint pain

Mine got better. But of course more test would make you more friscky. I use gel. But the top of my legs and hip kill. Im thinking its more from the ssri I take I hear they can cause tendons to tighten up. Will have to ask doct.

Re: estrogen and joint pain

I am having the same problem. My pain has become so that it is debilitating. My obgyn says the same thing, that it is not necessary to test hormone progesterone and whatever else needs to be tested. It is frustrating and like u wonder what is up?
I just had an MRI on hip and back in hopes that someone can help me get relief. I took my patch off 48 hours ago and the flu like feeling is slowly getting better. But hip and back pain is not. At a loss as well
