5 weeks post-op tomorrow....so many ?s

I had TVH with cystocele and rectocele 5 weeks ago tomorrow. At 2 weeks, I had suture reactions in the epiziotomy site. Not fun. Still have swelling there. I had my 4 week checkup last week and the doctor told me that my stitches were all disolved. I was cleared to do what my body would allow. I went to work for the first time yesterday and it really was too much, so I'm off until Monday. I had a really hard night and at one point, felt a pop low around the rectocele repair, followed by nausiating aching most the night. Enough that I took the pain killers. This morning I woke up with burning, itching at the back of my vagina. It continued all day. No discharge or real "pain". I finally got myself twisted around enough to look at it and I have about a 1-1 1/2 inch piece of suture hanging out and I can see more suture surfacing. Being a veterinary technician, I know that the suture can be cut that is hanging, but we really don't have alot of internal sutures work themselves out. I assume that the doctor would have seen these same stitches at my appointment. They are very prominent as they are white. My vagina is really tight. Doc even stated this when I went for my last exam. I did check myself when I got home and just a finger fills the entire space. I'm worried that sex will be painful or impossible. Hubby is being super supportive and he knows I'm scared. I also have concern that my nurse, a very good friend of my mother, and the recovery nurse said that I had extensive bleeding during surgery. My doctor said it was minimal. I had blood drawn the morning after surgery. Is this normal? For the most part, I feel good, just get tired and if I do something that is too much, I get pain and pressure in my pelvic area. I don't know why all of these questions are comng now....I'm just really concerned. Any advice guys? I don't think I was this nervous before surgery.

I can't answer most of your questions, only to say that I think having blood drawn after surgery is normal, especially if you have had bleeding during your surgery. They like to check your haemoglobin level.

I agree with zany56. Having blood drawn is normal. My tech came in at 3:30 a.m. to draw mine! Since you asked for advice, here's mine: Call your dr. and go see him/her to answer your questions and ease your anxiety. That's what he's there for and you'll feel better for it! (((hugs)))

When your doctor said you can do whatever your body will allow he most likely didn't mean you were healed and could resume all your normal activities. It sounds like you had a really rough night and morning and perhaps that's what your body is trying to do to make you listen to it. All this after your first day at work makes me think your not ready for returning to work yet. You need to ease back into your normal activities and listen very carefully to your body. It will let you know when you've over done it.
