Sunshine Saturday June 9th

We did get some rain yesterday, but the sun is beaming today and we may set a record high. I hate summers in Texas, just too darn But the spring, fall and winters make up for it.

We went out to eat last night, will be the last time we ever go back to that place. The fish came with dirty rice and steamed veggies. I asked what the veggies were and they said broccoli. I asked what else do you have? We only have broccoli. So I asked if I could substitute a salad and forego the rice and broccoli <fresh broccoli gives me really bad gas and constipates me> She goes to ask the manager and he comes over and says "absolutely not". Sooo...Steve says "what if you just charge us a small upcharge for the salad?" He says "absolutely not." Really? He said his corporate office says no substitutions. Come on now, how the heck will your corporate office even know. I looked him straight in the eye and said "tell your corporate office that you now have 3 less customers, we will NOT ever ever come back here." To top it off, my fish was very dry and bland.

Haven't had lunch yet, will probably have a turkey sausage. Dinner is going to be a prime rib roast on the gas grill rotissiere. Dh's orders. I asked him last night what he wanted me to make.

On the upside, my tummy does feel better today with limiting my carbs yesterday. The only carbs I had was the potatoes for breakfast.

Thanks for all the support my s I do appreciate it. I kind of hesitated to post as I know that I am not fat by any means, but feel more comfortable at 125 vs 135. And I don't want to buy new clothes and want my old clothes that I really like to feel comfortable again. I currently only have one pair of shorts that feel really comfortable, I have a drawer full of others and some skorts that are just too snug for comfort.

all!

Re: Sunshine Saturday June 9th

Hi Kim, bummer on that restaurant. No substitutions is one thing, but denying a customer an additional salad that he plans to pay for is just outrageous. Prime rib on the rotisserie sounds like it will make up for bland fish the night before.

We understand your situation and your desire to lose some weight. Not to worry. We are working on it with you and you have all our support. I seem to feel best if I have a good combination of protein, carbs and fat. Too much protein for me and I feel kind of icky. But too many carbs and I'm hungry al the time. It's a balancing act of some sort for each of us.

B - cereal and a cup of fresh raspberries
L - beans and a low fat hot dog, cottage cheese and yogurt with cherry sauce (canned unsweetened cherries boiled up with a little sugar)
D - I think a salad and some toast.

Ex - shopping, walking and mowing

Keep up the good work everyone

Re: Sunshine Saturday June 9th

The prime rib was quite yummy. Usually too much beef and I feel yucky, but think I ate just the right amount.

Dh and I went to Barnes and Noble as he wanted a soduku book. I decided to get a crossword puzzle book. I love doing crosswords, but haven't done one in quite some time. We than went to Starbucks and sat outside working our puzzles. Came home and watched a 3D movies. Very nice evening.

Oohhh... we also stopped and bought a new table and chairs for our parlor area. Unfortunately when we went to pick it up at the Distribution center the chairs weren't in stock, but the table was. The parlor area is finally taking shape after many years of it just being a blah area.

L-Turkey sausage
S-Pickles
D-Prime Rib
S-Almond cheese

was cutting palm tree branches, picking weeds and picking up dh's messes in the It was so warm today that I had to change clothes several times.

Thanks Desk I appreciate the support. Amazing how much better my feels with just a few days of being more mindful. I've been in denial for too long, thus the 10 pound gain.

And PJ and Valorie, I know you're out there. I am saying to you too.

Re: Sunshine Saturday June 9th

Hi all!

Missing in action because of a little stomach bug of some sort. It hit with great enthusiasm about 1:00 am Thursday and was pretty steady for about 12 hours. Didn't get a lick of sleep. Wasn't able to sleep yesterday either and last night was a short night as well. I'm pooped....but feeling better. Maybe a mild food poisoning? I don't know. Weird. If it's not one thing, it's another.

No food or exercise to report.

Nancy...HUGS! Hope you are feeling better today.
Valorie...How great to have a friend like you...taking care of others when they need a hand. I'm so sorry for your dear friend. Your support will mean a lot to her. Don't forget to take extra good care of yourself too .
Kim...So sorry about the rudeness at the restaurant. Yes, wouldn't want to visit them again. I understand what a difference 10 pounds can make. It really is the difference between being comfortable or uncomfortable sometimes. I'm surely feeling my most recent gain. It's awful. Hugs and glad you're with us!
Desk...I'm so excited to hear you recognize the waist issue, and hear you realize that you maybe weren't meant to have a very defined waistline. You are perfect, as is. I've been studying body types just so I could have a more realistic view of myself before restarting this weight loss gig. Some women have small waistlines and very tapered ribcages, and some our straighter. After 50 years, I finally found out I have a high hip (also called a Figure 8). No matter how thin I was, I still had this shelf below my waist that just wouldn't go away. What a pain. Now, I'm learning how to dress the thing (overweight or not), and its amazing what the right clothes can do. There's an old book by David Kibbe called Metamorphosis. It's really great, but most of the info is online. There's a quiz that will help you narrow down your body type and get an idea of what styles of clothing might have you feeling your best. Just a thought for after you retire. It's really great fun! Glad the early birthday was fun! Let us know when the big day is, so we can celebrate with you!

Off to try to get some sleep, all...
Hugs and wishes for good health for all...
