Anxious - endometrial cancer found incl. in two lymph nodes

Hello CloverBlossom, Thank you for the encouragement. I also am doing the sandwich protocol. I just completed my second chemo on the 5/29.My oncologist has also told me about probiotics and low fiber diet once the radiation starts. I am glad you have completed your treatment. I am trusting God to be with teeth and I and all the other ladies as we go through our treatments. God Bless

Was diagnosed in January 2012 with Stage3C1 uterine cancer. Of 28 nodes removed, one pelvic node was positive. Starting in February, I received 2 chemo doses at same time as external radiation. Then I received 4 brachytherapy treatments. Now am halfway through 4 doses of carbo/taxol. Have changed my eating habits and am exercising more. I feel really good so far.
Teeth: are you also Stage 3? Would love to keep in touch with you and others with Stage 3.

Yes I am stage 3. Sounds like they are hitting you hard. I have only had one chemo treatment so far, my next on the 20th. After 5 more treatments I will do external pelvic radiation for 5 weeks every day, 5 days a week. They say vaginal treatment is not an option for me due to the 2 of 5 lymph nodes being positive. I feel well too. I have just started to loose my hair today...boohoo. Oh well, I will be styin some pretty scarves this summer. Hope you continue to feel well. God Bless

Hello Teeth,
I had 5 weeks of daily external radiation. During that time, on day 1 and 28, I had cisplatin. Once daily rad treatments were done, I had 4 brachytherapy treatments. Then 3 weeks off before starting 4 rounds of carbo/taxol every 3 weeks. I will finish treatment on July 2nd; will get my "independence" I suppose.
I tolerated daily rad treatments well. During the last week, was a bit more tired and had some GI symptoms. All went away within a few days after completing the radiation. Never had any skin issues. I have not had problems with chemo with exception of aching legs 3-4 days afterwards.
I was never told that brachytherapy would not be helpful. It was done to prevent any recurrence at the vaginal cuff.
There are lots of pretty scarves that can be bought today. Just be sure you wear a hat and sunscreen when out in the sun. Hang in there!

Teeth,
I was told that if you have something in your bladder prior to external radiation, the fullness of the bladder would help to push the intestine out of the radiation field which would minimize GI issues.

Hi girls...shaved my hair last night because I got grossed out with all the hair in my food. It feels much better now and really cool for the summer. I also love the other hair loss. I have always been extra hairy, haha. Maybe I will write a pamphlet that goes in all the stuff you get from the Dr. and name it..."the wonders you can enjoy while undergoing cancer treatment." What do you think? It could help with the bills. Have a great week and look for the good in all the mess of this....Teeth

Hi Teeth, how are you doing? I have been thinking about you and your upcoming treatment on Wednesday. My next treatment is actually Tuesday, got switched due to memorial Day being celebrated on the Monday I would have had the last one. I am glad you are getting the port, it makes everything easier. After this treatment I will have a short break, then radiation. I have been enjoying the weekend. I will have a Father's Day cookout tomorrow after church. I hope you are getting plenty of rest.
