Light Breakfast??
I'm scheduled for surgery on Thursday and my orders state that all I can eat tomorrow is a "Light Breakfast" before noon. Does anyone know what would be considered a light breakfast? Then I can have drinks (non-alcoholic) until midnight. No preps were given to me like I've read about. Which I am really thankful for. I'm really excited and fighting off the fear at the same time.
I just want to say that I am very grateful for this site and all of the women that take the time to answer our questions.

Re: Light Breakfast??
I would think a couple eggs and toast or fruit and oatmeal would be ok. I would avoid meats

Re: Light Breakfast??
No dairy. I had peanut butter toast, 2 pieces and they were happy with that. My anesthesiologist said if I had had dairy he would've had to wait 2 more hours to put me under.

Re: Light Breakfast??
One week from today i too will be having a "light breakfast." I think I will go with the peanut butter toast idea. I really like and NEED to have protein throughout the day and I've been wondering what type of breakfast to do that would give me protein but be light enough.
Is there anything throughout the liquid diet part that could give me some protein? Or would protein just be urm, harder to pass on through later that day??
I feel like I'm going to be so hungry all day Wednesday!

Re: Light Breakfast??
Thanks for the advice. I think I will go ahead with the peanut butter toast because I too was worried about starving without any protein all day. I'm not a big fan of peanut butter, but figure it might stay with me a bit longer. Maybe a protein bar would be ok, but I'm not sure about that.

Re: Light Breakfast??
Not sure if a protein bar is a good idea. Don't they usually contain oats or some other type of "bulk"? Might have dairy in them too.

Re: Light Breakfast??
I think I'm going to go with nutella toast tomorrow morning. I don't like peanut butter toast at all... I'm getting ready to start my bowel prep. I was told to eat light today, as well. Soup only I guess. I'm really anxious about tomorrow. Gulp

Re: Light Breakfast??
Eggs are good. Oatmeal is awesome. No milk or meat. All I can tell you is what my doc said and that was that she didn't want me eating super heavy thinking I'd starve before surgery lol. Also the less in you if you have to do a bowel prep the better.
Oh and I forgot. They said no bread or pasta for me. (I was allowed to eat lunch then move to clear diet).
So interesting How different doctors orders can be.
