3 weeks post -op and still in pain

Had a Trans vaginal hysterectomy and the removal of my left ovary on May 30, 2011. I was lucky enough to keep my right ovary, but I am still experiencing pain on the left side where my ovary was removed. It almost feels like the pain that i experienced before surgery. Is this normal?

I was able to keep both my ovaries but dr discussed what would happen if he couldn't save them. All the tissue and ligaments holding them in place has to be cut so they can be removed. He told me pain isn't uncommon for a few weeks after surgery. Said abdominal pain from having uterus removed lasts quite awhile too. I had TAH but either way, we still had a hysterectomy. Only difference is, I have a 5" incision which isn't bothering me at all. It upset me to hear a friends husband tell her she should only be down a couple weeks because she wasn't getting cut like I was. I don't care how they do it. Its still removing organs. Hopefully your pain lets up so you can continue to recover. Sending prayers from one sister to another.
