Hyst after placenta acreta

I am 39. On feb 28 I had a c-section? Was discharged? On march 5th I was rushed in to surgery. I had been bleeding since c-section. I needed blood before surgery. Had d&c bleeding stopped 15 min after waking me up bleeding started again. Dr then performed hysterectomy. Dr said it was placenta acreta. I ended up needing 12 pints of blood. Has anyone else had this happen? I have ben researching and it is always found during c-section.

Well it has almost been a year since hystorectomy . This was the most horrible event in my life. I am still battling with arthritis, hair loss, and most recently heart problems. I would never advise anyone to have hystorectomy unless necessary.

I also ended up having a hysterectomy after a placenta increta (more severe than acrreta as my placenta grew through the uterus to the other side) went uncaught and I nearly bled to death. It was my 5th vaginal birth, first manual placenta removal. I am so so sorry that you had to go through this and I completely understand how you see this as the most horrible event. *hugs to you*!
