vaginal discharge

I had a TAH on June 14th. My doctor intended to only leave my ovaries and tubes but she was unable to remove my cervix due to a lot of scar tissue. She took most of it but there is still some left. I'm doing well but sometimes I have almost a black discharge after urinating. Also when I get out of bed in the morning. Has this happened to anyone? I wonder what it is. Any info would be great...

Re: vaginal discharge

Hi! This discharge that you are questioning about is really nothing to worry about. It 's normal..I believe it's all the residue from the surgery, also when the internal stitches start to shrink they pull on the tissue which may cause bleeding. I had it for about a week after my surgery. But if it. Continues.... Call your doctors office and get checked out better being safe than sorry.
Hope all goes well and let us know how things are. We're here for you.

Re: vaginal discharge

Thanks! That makes sense. I'll wait and see what happens. I have my 2 week check in a week or so, and if it hasn't stopped I'll tell my doctor. ((hugs)) I feel less worried now! Thanks

Re: vaginal discharge

I have read a lot of posts on hystersisters and don't recall anyone ever talking about a black discharge after urinating. I think you should give your doctors office a quick call in the morning just to double check.

Re: vaginal discharge

Yes I'm going to a call in the morning. It's watery and black. Not like dark red, it's blackish grey. That doesn't seem right. Thanks.
