Pain running down leg from episod.

13 days post op from Lap vag hyster, kept one ovary and cervix. The ovary they took was about the size of a lemon, non cancerous. Bladder sling, urethera lift and vag repair and I am still having a pain in my bottom area between the rectum and vagina. It is hard to sit on most seats and when I get up or out of bed in the morning it is a major pain in that area. How long do I have to deal with this. Any one else having this problem. Pain meds only help a little. Could it be something wrong? This morning when I woke up and got out of bed their was a very sharp pain that went down the back of my right thigh from the episod area. It took a min and few steps to get the pain worked out. Every time I am sitting the pain is running down my right leg. Then when I stand it takes a min or two ef easly putting weight on the right leg to get the pain managable to be able to walk. I will def. be calling the doc in the AM.

Unhappy - Pain running down leg from episod. Re: Pain running down leg from episod.

Dr is in sugery right now and wont be back in till after lunch sometime. Nurse said that it sounded like a sciatic nerve. Pain meds dont help so now I just have to wait till this evening to hear from the DR.

If it's sciatica trying heat on your lower back should provide some relief.

Re: Pain running down leg from episod.

Thankfully my leg is much better now. After resting a couple of times yesterday with a heat pad. Also the Dr office called me in pain meds with antiflamatory so I went to walmart and wanted to walk to help ease my leg and ended up over doing it in the long run with my swelley belley. I cant win for losing. LOL! I guess I'm just pushing myself and doing to much to soon. I'm not used to just sitting around and doing very little. Its hard! So this morning when I woke up I was kinda sore from my outing to walmart. I learned my lesson and it made me realize I wasnt ready to do as much as I thought I could.

Re: Pain running down leg from episod.

Glad your Dr. got you some meds. The antiinflammatories will help. I know that my perineum area is still sore and at times it can be difficult to get comfortable. Some chairs/stools are impossible to sit on. I have used both ice and heat to help with the pain with great success. Good luck
