Clear Liquid diet question

I did not have any bowel prep except nothing after midnight. However, after surgery, I was on a clear liquid meal menu. The gave me red jello, cherry Italian ice, broth, sierra mist. Then a few hours later I was offered coffee, milk, jello, broth, yogurt, sierra mist, frozen Italian Ice plus a bazillion other options, most not clear. When I asked she explained they meant no solids in the liquid, not no color.

there's clear fluids and then free fluids, clear fluids are stuff like jelly (jello) apply juice water and i think lemon cordial, free fluids is then anything in a liquid form it depends on your doctor as to whether you have clear or free fluids initially after surgery, i was actually able to drink and eat anything i wanted that first night, which admittedly wasn't much, i was starving but didn't feel like more than a few mouthfuls when the time came. if a doctor says clear fluids they do generally mean fluids without heavy colour (purple and red)

Thanks - boy am I hungry and my rear is sore from the bowel prep. Yikes! Well, it'll all be over in 24 hours. I know I'm doing this for a good reason as are all of you!
