Terrified of another laparoscopy with ovary removal

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post this....there are so many different forums!
I had a TAH/LSO 9 years ago, at age 31 due to endometriosis. I've since developed terrible digestive problems and have had every test under the sun, all coming back negative. Now they believe it could be the endo back. I'm scheduled for a laser laparoscopy in September, with possible RSO. I'm terrified to lose my last ovary, and am having a hard time dealing with the whole thing. I'm so scared to go on HRT...in the past I've had problems with estrogen making my moods absolutely crazy to the point of hating life. I also don't want to be thrown into menopause at 40.
Any advice/encouragement/thoughts would be so appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Terrified of another laparoscopy with ovary removal

I'm surely no expert but I know from reading here that there are endo specialists, and they might be able to excise the endo but keep the ovary, where a regular GYN might just remove the ovary. I'd do a search for an endo specialist before opting for a surgery. HRT is hit and miss anyway, and more complicated if you react to it, plus might still have endo left behind that could grow with HRT. I wish I had more to offer but from what I've read on here, seeing the right specialist can really be key. I hope you can find answers soon.
