HUMILIATED.....peed my pants

Yesterday afternoon at my house after going pee I was walking from the restroom and felt terrible cramp then completely wet myself. So much so that I need to rinse off and change clothes. my girlfriend was over and saw the whole thing. She said she understood but I was so completely embarrassed. Can anyone else relate? I am assuming this is happening because of my prolapsed uterus? Dr ordered urinealysis but haven't got results yet.

Re: HUMILIATED.....peed my pants

How awful to have that experience but please don't be ashamed or embarrassed. It could be that your uterus is pressing on your bladder so you are not fully emptying it when you attempt to void. I had that happen during intercourse prior to my hysterectomy so I understand how horrible it can be. Was the urinalysis to see if you are emptying your bladder? Is there a plan in the future for surgery?

Re: HUMILIATED.....peed my pants

It happens to me nearly every morning. I know how you feel. Don't be embarrassed -- it's a part of nature. I have no answers for you. I've an appointment with a urologynecologist next week.
It's depressing, I know. I had my TAH in 2009 and the bladder issues have been getting worse. I'm thinking it's scar tissue...not sure what my options are. Reading things online get over whelming. All I know is, I want it to be fixed. I tried Vesicare and was horribly constipation.
Kegel exercises do nothing.

Hang in there -- you aren't alone!

Re: HUMILIATED.....peed my pants

I'm sorry, I can totally relate. I have even had it happen in a store and had to put my coat around my waist. Another time while talking to a neighbor at my front door. I had to keep my composure and just finish the conversation. My son came from behind, and when I shut the door quietly asked if something had happened and did I need to go change my clothes. I've ran through the room yelling to look out at the bathroom door cause Im gonna pee my pants...and laughing cause although it was frustrating and not cool you may as well laugh at it in the middle of the situation? If it was with your friend, don't even sweat it...thats what friends are for! Just laugh about your absurd uterus and bladder....and do what you gotta do.
Some ideas for you too? These coming from my experiences, sad to say!
Ive had problems (cystocele), those can contribute.
Ive had medication (cymbalta) that gradually put me into spasms to the point I was using adult heavy pads. My uro/gyn at that time was telling me it was in my head and needed to do bio feedback! I just happened to go off this med for other reasons and it stopped just like that! Have you started any new meds?
Interstitial cystitis can be another frustrating cause, you may look into that and see if other parts of that condition fit you?
Then again, the pressure of something on your bladder or urethra. Pressure on your urethra can be just as bad. That is part of what Im dealing with now, 18m after pelvic reconstruction.

I've tried some bladder control meds. They all have the tendency of constipation, as they control water in not only your bladder but bowels. If you keep that in mind though and drink good amounts of water they really can help. In trying a few, I found Detrol LA to help me the most. Other than times when it is a pressure issue, it has helped me quite a bit.

Ive learned with lots of medical issues in the past couple years that google is your friend, don't rely on your doctor for the right answer...

Hope maybe these suggestions might help, but if not at least know you aren't alone out there with your rogue bladder. Hang in there! :-)
