Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Jun 11-Jun 17,2012

I am so very sorry to hear a lot oft sisters are still having a hard time. Sending you all out well needed ((( hugs))). I am on day 3 of my vacation with my family. All Is greats. I. Had no problems on the rides. The only pain I had was at the end of the day my poor legs hurt from all the walking. Today is Luray cavern day Nothing strenuous just walking and taking in the sights Hope the sisters who are not feeling well get to feeling better soon. Have a great day.

Well I am depressed beyond measure with having to buy fat pants, the only upside was that they were on sale. When I told hubby I felt fat and frumpy he made soothing noises, then told me that eating chocolate while doing nothing wasn't helping. Thanks babe, love you too lol. It's not like I'm inactive by choice at the minute. So now I am glum and my ovaries are aching and I am taking solace in my cat.

Dawnsy, I think about you so much and pray your rides don't catch up to you. I am glad you are having a great vacation and all is well!

Kristykins, OUCH! I hope you feel better today. I have gotten old enough tht I am bolder about discomfort. The last in- service I was in I refused to sit with the group because all available chairs were in direct sunlight. So I told the instructor that I can not have the sun beating down on me and moved the chair to a shaded area of the room. I got a few strange looks but whatever! Glad you remembered your pillow the next day. I am going to have to remember to take one when I return to work.

Grateful4grace, hang in there! You are going through a lot and will take awhile to heal. But keep bringing those concerns to your doc as you wonder about things.

Liquid ice, Sounds like a call to a clinic or visit to ER is in store. Let us know your results.

Femme, I can't imagine being sick during recovery. How miserable. Hope that passes soon.

I am having a good week. I called my regular doc earlier to see if I could get a potassium level check since it was lower than it was supposed to be going into surgery. Doc is gone until Mon and nurse said to eat a banana a day and keep my Aug 1st appt. I told her the Aug, appt was post op with the surgeon and that my doc manages my meds. So, she said she would refer to my doc on Mon. I may have to make an appt with my doc which is a waste of everyone's time....just give me the blood test and go from there!

My steri-strips are becoming loose and tummy still tender but I am actually starting to want to do things again. I walked through half of Walmart with my daugher the other day. I had no desire to go into the other half which is another sign that I am still healing. I love shopping and walking through most sections just to see what is there. not normal for me to want to make shopping trips short.

I am going into my 2nd month ( 33 days) and had my post op check up yesterday. The internal exam wasn't as bad as I had thought, but I did not get the glowing report I had hoped..... Internal stitches are all still there...UGHHH! No sex for at least two more weeks, limited activity, referral to a vascular doctor, ovaries not working, so I am on HRT, and my iron levels are low.........but on the plus side I can go back to work on Monday for a few hours a day.

I am very sore today from internal exam, but I am moving forward in my recovery! It feels like at a snail's pace, but forward!

i wish i could say i have been lifting and walking and doing all the things i was told not to do but I have been laying down since the day i came home which was the same day i had my surgery on june 12, 2012. i am now sobbing. i am so overwhelmed by the thought of being put under again tonight if the bleeding does not subside so they can put in deeper sutures. i am sick of being alone all day for so many weeks. i obviously need a "friend overhaul". If it were not for my neighbors I would be lost and my DH. He does the best he can but you know men, after a few weeks they start to feel neglected and he let me know that this morning when I resisted his advancement from behind to kiss my neck...i am NOT IN THE MOOD FOR ANY CUDDLING whatsoever and he was sure to let me know he feels neglected. My son came and left fter 15 mins due to my heavy bleeding and need to lay down off my feet. I was getting emotional and he can't stand to see anyone cry so he exited and went back to his house. My local friends were stopping in to check on me for wk 1 and 2 but none have called or come by since. My neighbors have though, every couple of days one stops in (87 yrs old and 70 yrs old). One other neighbor pops in but she brings her big dog and runs all over my house, sheds everywhere and pants dropping droul on my furniture, then she proceeds to tell me how I should not have had the surgery and now I must be doing too much if I am still bleeding. BUT I AM ONLY WALKING FROM THE COUCH TO THE BED TO THE BATHROOM....why can't she hear me when i tell her I am staying off my feet as told and have been for 4 1/2 wks! I wish my mom was still alive. I am 50 and I miss her every day. Oh, and if I hear my husband tell his family members (who also all live in a different state) that I am doing just fine and recouperating so well I think I will scream out loud. I just told him I feel like crap and I am scared to go under again.

Hi everybody.
I had my LAVH on June 11th. First 2 weeks were the worse. Sine then, I am feeling better each day EXCEPT, I'm still have pain in my abdominal, and tons of gas. The abdominal pain feels like my whole inside is bruised. Has anybody else still having these issues, and how long does this last? I'm worried that this isn't normal.

How I wish a vacation could be longer lol. Still doing great. I think I gained 15 lbs while on vacation. Not good for my diet. We are about 35 min from home from home and I need to go to the store for milk I hope everyone is doing better and had good weekend.

Hi Pepi...I am still very sore across my abdomine and on the side where my ovary used to be. I think it may have to do with how much the doctor had to remove-i had a lot of endo from what doc said.

Hi Girls ~ Y'all are not alone ~my abdomen is still sore as well ,the dr removed both my ovaries. I thought it was I have about a 8" vertical incision. I'm so thankful for this site ~ without it I would have been lost!

Hi all hope you are all well. I did really well at the beginning of the week however I think I over did it on Thursday. Friday very tired and had a migraine. Saturday was so nice here wanted to go out with the family we have had so few nice days this summer. However think it was too much, had lots of pains. Today had a christening everyone lovely and sat down most of the time. Lovely to see everyone but sneezed this morning and pulled something so in pain and put on some trousers this afternoon when I got home to relax and they were really tight (have been loose for weeks). Realising I am not there yet, my belly has not been this swollen since week 2. Must relax the next few days. I have to go back to work full time next week, don't know how I will manage.
