waiting for date .. tick tock

Hi,
I had appoint with GYN/ONC on May 28th and we agreed that the safest road for me would be to have a hysterectomy. He told me it would be mid to late July. Here I am in mid-July and I have not got a date. I rang them last week and was told I would get 10 -> 14 days notice so now I am just waiting by the phone. I just want it done and as time goes on I worry about my pre-cancer turning into cancer. I am also concerned about getting things sorted and ready for my recovery .. I don't know whether to go off and enjoy my summer or knuckle down and fill the freezer.

I have had 2 lletz treatments .. the first for CIN2/3 .. the pap after showed it had not cleared so I had another lletz .. that time they found high grade CGIN(which skips regions apparently) .. The doctor said the safest thing to do it have hysterectomy .. I am fine with that .. just want it done .. I will not rest until the pathology comes back after ..

I am having laparscopic surgery .. He was very optimistic about my recovering .. saying I am young and that I should be driving two weeks later .. I am fit and do some running .. eager to get my life back on track now and now be in this 'waiting' mode ..

Re: waiting for date .. tick tock

Hi Mary,

It sounds like they caught the pre-cancer early so that's really good! I hope they get your surgery scheduled soon so you can get on with your summer, too! Let us know when you hear.

Wish the best for you and hope for a good path report and quick healing!

I'm so sorry you're dealing with all of this. But, it does sound like you've caught things early when they are most treatable which is "good" news indeed.

Yes, waiting totally stinks, doesn't it? Very glad to hear you're seeing a gyn/onc. They are the experts, and we recommend consulting one, if at all possible.

Please keep us posted and don't forget to check over on the Pre-Op boards for info/tips related to the procedure, the hospital, returning home, etc.

We're glad you found us!
