Pre-Op Bowel Prep Suggestion

Hello, I am one day post - op. I wanted to pass on a suggestion.
As I was being prepped for surgery it took two nurses and 8 pokes for them to find a good vein for my IVs. I was dehydrated and my veins were very constricted. If your doctor orders a bowel prep, be sure to drink LOTS of water throughout your prep. Also be sure to eat, if you were on a liquid diet eat the liquids. Jello, popsicles, tea.. keep the fluids going. Hopefully you can avoid being poked over and over!
