TAH Recovery reports for July 18 TAH

Ok, im at the castle after my TAH yesterday.
I had an epidurral with a morphine procedure and that was a first, it actually really helped for last night pain-wise.
Today however im having a tough time, my blood pressure has dropped to low to have any strong pain relief.
The nurses suggested i try doing a '3-cough' exercise with 8 repetitions every hour and that has helped immensely with the gas.
In fact im actually sitting up which feels pretty good.
My Dr was called away for an emergency right after mine so I saw him this am- everything went well- i get to keep my ovaries, everything else is gone including some nasty plum amd apple size fibroids.

So far everything that i have read about in the forums has really mentally and emotionally prepared me and although im in expected pain -it is manageable because of that.

Congratulations on a successful journey to the "other side". You will have your ups and downs during your recovery, but remember someone is always here for you. This site was extremely helpful to me and continues to be and I am ten weeks post op! Best wishes!
