Tinkering Tuesday July 24

I missed you all yesterday, was away from the computer all day and then got home too late to check in.

Kim, I hope your leg is better soon, and if not, that you will check it out with the just to be sure.

Valorie, it's good to see you back and on MFP. You have been busy! How sweet that Emma is, Wal!!

PJ, I hope you feel better and get the foods settled, avoiding the ones that don't work.

DH and I are going wheat-free after reading the book "Wheat Belly". We are not going carb-free, but will make every effort to avoid wheat in any form for at least a month. Maybe I can get rid of the belly fat at last. We'll see.

Family visiting today, so dinner out tonight. I'm already ready for a

B - gluten-free toast with cheese, juice, prunes
L - salad and g-f toast, 1/4 avocado
D - broiled tilapia, steamed veggies, probably ice cream (no wheat, this will be a challenge if they have an interesting dessert, so ice cream is a good option. I love my baked goods.)
S - yogurt and something?

Ex - walk and hoping for elliptical but will take the nap first. I meant to get on the elliptical this morning but then had breakfast instead, and now my ESMMWL class is about to begin so I'd better

Re: Tinkering Tuesday July 24

Desk,
I think you will be amazed the difference by staying away from wheat. I know most claim wheat and fiber, wheat and fiber, but for me it's a It makes me feel bloated and constipates me.

I still have a gimpy leg. I came home early from work. Not much going on, had some stuff to do but it wasn't urgent, so came home and put one of those heat patches on my thigh and wrapped it. I do hope it's just a pulled muscle. It does not hurt when I'm not moving it, but when I am sitting for awhile and get up, oh my! I have my regular doc appt tomorrow, she'll put some needles in there for me If it acts up again after that I will see my regular doc and get an xray. I am not overly worried as it is not warm to the touch nor is it swollen. Just hurts like heck. Dh touched my thigh last night in bed and I screamed. Kind of freaked him out. Poor guy It's not as tender right now. But last night I couldn't even touch my leg and when dh just lightly touched it, it was soooo tender. The pain stopped as soon as he pulled his hand away.

Food hasn't been bad today. I am really liking the salads from home, I get just the right amount of the things I like.
B-Usual
S-Turkey wing meat
L-Salad from home, w/ veggie cheddar, turkey bacon bits and sliced almonds
S-Soy Cheese
D-Turkey thigh

Re: Tinkering Tuesday July 24

Hi Kim I thought you did not eat wheat. We are excited about the wheat free concept. And I am so glad you will see the dr because that leg sounds so NOT normal. Somehow unusual leg pain just seems very scary to me.

Bedtime...

Re: Tinkering Tuesday July 24

Hi Kim and Desk,
Ouch Kim that doesn't sound good, let us know what you find out.
These allergies are kicking my butt, just want to go put my head in to something that would make it feel better and curl up in bead.
Desk, I think the what I like to say most to people going Gluten free is don't try and replace your gluten items with subsistutes, don't replace bread with bread, or crackers with crackers, eat more fruits and vegis, etc. I know easier said than done, but it's worth a shot.
I have been keeping a microblog on stuff that I eat, I'm having a lot of fun doing it it is on the site called tumbler and my microblog is called
eating2bewell. Microblog meaning I don't have to post or write a lot, but I'm sharing the way I eat and some recipes. follow me if you want.
Food was really good today, we have lettuce coming out of our ears in the garden, so I plan on stepping up the amount I eat, haha, today I had a salad for lunch and another with my dinner.
Breakfast was green smoothie
lunch salad
snack hummus
Dinner was my Kitcheree recipe,
I'm beat off to bed with me

Re: Tinkering Tuesday July 24

Hi Desk and Kim and Valorie (I seeee you ),

It was a good day today. I have been freezing cherries and now blueberries. Tomorrow I have two boxes to work with. I just love those little fellas. The cherries have been sooo good this year. Have you ladies had your fill yet. I live for cherry season (and other things, of course ).

Breakfast: oatmeal
Snack: cherries
Lunch: baked potato and cashews and romaine (weird, huh!)
Snack: apple with pb (was nervous but it went down just fine)
Dinner: chicken breast and peas

Exercise: recovering from the Callanetics! She found a muscle in my arm that I had no idea I had!

Desk...LOVING the idea of a new book! I'll check it out. Can't wait to hear how it works for you.
Kim...I'm so happy to know that you'll be getting that leg checked out! We'll be anxious to hear what they find!
Valorie...How fun to have little Emma with you! What a treat to hear her say your name for the first time. Bet she got lots of kisses for that! Glad your party went well! Hope you're finding some time for rest!

Hello to Nancy and any other BESTERS who might be passing by tonight.

Sleep well, friends!
Hugs,
PJ
