Yes I kept my ovaries. My Dr left it completely up to me. I had no desire to be on HRT. Thankfully they looked good and he left them.

I could not keep my ovaries, they were severely inflamed about the size of a golf ball.

Kept both my ovaries, but my dr. Took out both the tubes. She said they think ovarian cancer might start there and she wanted to minimize the risk.

Re: If you had a hysterectomy, did you keep your ovaries?

It makes me sad to read messages from the younger sisters who have had to say goodbye to their uteruses. I am 50 and have had my children but even then I grief for the loss. Uteruses are a big part of us as women. As for the poll the surgeon left my ovaries in even though one is non functioning from a ruptured cyst many years ago. I was given the option of having the ovaries removed if I had really pressed for it but I was (am?) pre menopausal at the time of the operation and I didn't want to go into sudden menopause- even though I still get hot flashes and night sweats! I hope I will not have to face further surgery but it is an unknown...
