Product for Incisons

My incison looks pretty good but the pucnture wounds where they were going to do a Davinci look really ugly. Is there anything I can put on them to promote healing to start with? Thanks.

Vitamin e oil? Maybe mederma? Double check with your doc.

Re: Product for Incisons

I am allergic to most products including Vitamin E ...so be careful what you use. I have been using RoseHip oil with lavender oil mixed in. I am 3 months post op and scars are looking good.

I agree with FreyjaFiend. Better to double check with the doctor before putting anything on the incision.

Re: Product for Incisons

My sister worked for a plastic surgeon for over 10 years. She told me jojoba oil is very good for healing incisions, keeping them soft and supple and therefore less scar tissue. Also the enzymes, bromelain, papain and serrapeptase are very good for reducing scar tissue.

Re: Product for Incisons

Heck. I've found that good old lotion can work wonders. Even a after bath oil like rainbath, baby oil, coconut oil will work. The point really is to keep the skin nice an hydrated. Also, don't expose those areas to the sun.

BTW... How are you doing? You had such a rough go at things there for awhile

Re: Product for Incisons

Saw my doc yesterday to have one of my incisions drained. Yuk...I scar easy and my other incisions are healed but very noticeable. She told me to use Mederma. I agree with the other ladies to check with your doc first because my doc said I can't put anything on the one they just drained until it is healed.
