37yrs old....6days post oophorectomy

In the past 6 yrs I've had several surgeries for various issues. I lost my left ovary in 2006 due to a very large cyst. I've also struggled with endo and several other cysts on my right ovary. Most recently I had a serous cystadenoma on my right ovary with resulted in the loss of my remaining ovary and menopause at 37

I'm 6 days postop and physically I feel pretty good. I haven't had any hot flashes, night sweats or or any physical symptoms of menopause. Mentally I'm a basket case. I'm crying over everything. I couldn't decide what to have for dinner last night so I cried about it. I have absolutely no control over my emotions.

Any suggestions on supplements to help with the moods and emotions would be great.

Thanks

I don't have an answer for you, just supporting you. I'm 6 weeks out of my TAH/BSO and menopause at 38 is terrible. I am not on HRT yet, and I pray to God there is something to help with the emotions, anxiety, cold sweats, hot flashes and all around bad mood ;-/ I just keep reminding myself to breathe.

Re: 37yrs old....6days post oophorectomy

Hi

Sorry you are having mood issues. You are only 6 days post op and this is not uncommon and sometimes is due to the surgery, shock to the body, medications, etc. Rest, do some walking, eating healthy may help this. If you continue to have problems then ask your doctor what he recommends, and if it is okay to take over the counter supplements like Estroven.

I hope you feel better soon. Healing takes time inside and out.

Re: 37yrs old....6days post oophorectomy

Thanks for the replies. I saw my dr yesterday and she had also said that I could be dealing with postop weepiness. I had my first menopausal migraine today and it's been a doozy!! Yikes.....I'm hoping this isn't an indication that they're all going to be this bad. It's not been a good day.

Purplefish....I'm so sorry you're having such a struggle. I hope you find some relief soon. I send you hugs.
