Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Aug 01-Aug 07,2011
Well girls, I had my annual exam today. I must say that my doctor is a real sweetheart. However, I did not expect the exam to hurt like it did. I've been cramping & achey ever since I left the clinic. Hoping & praying for good results from the pap test. I also have to have a mammogram (ugh!!), next week.
Just as I thought that everything was leveling out & that I was finding my new normal I have a day where I just wanna sit & cry. I really don't understand all this hormone stuff. My DH even suggested I go to the doctor for "help". My reply to him was...if the good LORD can't keep me happy & full of joy then I'll just be blue. I sure hope the rest of y'all are doing just peachy!! Love ya ladies so very much!!

Dont worry, it will go away. Slowly though. I started at the gym and I swim 2 to 3 times a week and work out 1 or 2 days but only for 1/2 at a time and I have lost a few pounds. Even though its been 1 year since my TAH, I get sore sometimes so I cannot do too much but you do have to exercise and strengthen that belly, that is your core, but you have to do it little by little.

Re: Recovery Progress Reports for Hysterectomy dates Aug 01-Aug 07,2011
Hello, everyone! It's good to read through the posts and see how many of you have "visited" here lately. I remember you all fondly, and don't know how I would have made it through last year's awful ordeal without you. Thankfully I am doing really well now. I kind of had this goal or dream or whatever that at the one year hysterversary, everything would be great and I would have no health issues - totally recovered. That's not exactly true, but I am doing 95% better, and that's more than enough to function and enjoy life. It's wonderful to live without bleeding, I now own white pants, capris and shorts! My hormones are pretty much even and a non-issue most of the time (still on Eva-Mist and loving it). I no longer have that awful cramping pain, or the "oh, my ovary" ovulation pain. All that is wonderful! On the down side, my pelvic floor muscles are still not quite right ... I know that's a complication many of you did not have, but for me the pelvic floor spasms were absolutely horrible. They are mostly gone, but still flare up a little every now and then. At least I know what they are now and how to deal with it - I have a home unit from PT which helps. I think my lower back was aggravated by the surgery, and I've been dealing with issues related to that all year. I will probably never be out of "maintenance" for those things. Still, they are minor issues compared to where I was before the surgery and for many months after. Life is good!
