Re: How did others do with having both ovaries removed?

I had both ovaries, it, cervix out on July 16th. No hot flashes, night sweats, etc until week three. It all hit me at once and I begged for hrt. My labs came back clean so I started on estrogen. Worst headache of my life for two days. By day 4 of hrt pill all menopause symptoms went away.

I feel like a new born baby sometimes. I don't know what is wrong or why so I just fuss until I get one of everything to see what will work and calm me down

Re: How did others do with having both ovaries removed?

Thanks for replying... Im so young to be going through this i believe i am being punished for whatever i did in my younger times.. I had my hysterectomy in 2000.. They removed my right ovary, uterus and cervix, last year in august had my appendix removed and they found endometriosis in the left ovary, and my appendix.. They went in to remove the endo but didnt take my ovary... here i am a year later same time back in to remove the ovary... When they got in there my ovary was attached to my colon with scar tissue... I have been with my job almost 2 years and had 3 major surgeries.. I am hoping this is the end all to be all..... Im experiencing feelings of not being a woman and depression, but my husband is amazing he researched endometriosis and hysterectomy so he could understand....

Re: How did others do with having both ovaries removed?

I understand what you are saying. I have had so many medical issues that no one could see or explain that each visit ended up with the Dr telling me to see a psychiatrist. You can get labeled I think. I didn't even consider a hysterectomy until a surgeon told me last March that I had a cyst on my left ovary and we should cut the whole thing out. We didn't even know if it was precancerous or not. We took some time and decided to take it all out and have only one surgery. I am 42 and have two kids so it was an easier decision to make. I wanted to avoid the kind of issues you have had. I am sorry you have had so many trials but they aren't punishment for your younger days. You could have been a perfect person and still have problems. Jim Gaffigan said it best. "everything will eventually lead to cancer these days, even laughter".
