Re: How big was your uterus?

Mine was a 20 weeks.... It came out from a horizontal incision in my abdomen. I had some bruising above my incision in the middle of my belly- The doc said that was from getting the huge fibroid out!

Re: How big was your uterus?

Mine was a 10-week size. Dr. compared it to a grapefruit and it was about 104 grams maybe? I think he said normal was 80 ish. So it wasn't huge, but still enlarged.

Re: How big was your uterus?

Mine was 894 grams. Six weeks today and I am doing much better. Still a little sore, but getting there. Now if I can just start sleeping normally again it will be great. Good luck to you all in your recovery.

Re: How big was your uterus?

Mine TAH was six weeks ago too. Mine weighed 1100 grams and was the size of a 20 week pregnancy. My doctor said it was the size of a fully inflated football and then some! He kept going on and on about that everybody in the operating room couldn't believe how big it was. I had no clue it was that big. I never had lots of bleeding or pain, just hip and back pain from the fibroids. Glad everything is finally back to normal!

Re: How big was your uterus?

My doctor said, before surgery--6/18/12, that my uterus was very small and that it might have a fibroid on it. Well, it turned out to be 55 g, with no fibroids, but it did have a 3.2 x 2.7 x 1.5 cm adenocarcinoma (tumor). Sure glad it's gone!! I have since had my 3 requisite radiation treatments and all is well. Good health to all of you sisters-in-healing.

Re: How big was your uterus?

My uterus was 129g, normal, according to my doc is 60-90g. I did not have any fibroids, or adenomyosis, just enlarged and misbehaving for years. My bladder is so happy now with all that extra room to expand!

Re: How big was your uterus?

My uterus was 1580 grams and was the size of a basketball. The nurses at the castle made copies of my surgery pics to show their friends and the doctor told me at the staple removal appointment that the pathologist freaked out about the size! I had giant fibroids.

Re: How big was your uterus?

I had a volleyball sized fibroid, and a few smaller ones. It's amazing how we've all been walking around with all this stuff inside.
