Stabbing pains? and pain in botom?
Today is my three weeks post op. Lately I have been getting quick stabbing pains just out of the blue, like a shock or zap of pain. It happens like 20 times a day. It's a new pain so I want to know if it's okay? Has anyone else had this? Also a new pain, a dull aching on my bottom sort of near my tail bone. It's probably fine, I'm more worried about the stabbing pains but I thought I'd mention both , just in case someone else had something similar and it's bad news or something. I have to say, I knew nothing about what to expect before my surgery. My Dr didn't say much at all about the healing process or dos and don'ts. I had to get the dos and don'ts here! Thanks for any feedback, I appreciate your time. -Plum

Re: Stabbing pains? and pain in botom?
I also had those same kind of pains at about 3 weeks and then again around5-6 weeks. Usually when I increased my activity.
It was explained to me that as healing continues and swelling goes down we are likely to notice and feel these healing pains.
However, it wouldnt hurt to put a call into your doctor because he might want to check you sooner than later. You wont know for sure that everything is okay until you talk to your doctor.

I had pain but not stabbing pain. I would let your doctor know what you are experiencing If anything doesn't seem right a call to your doctor never hurts. It will ease your mind also. Please keep us posted.

I have had the pain in my tailbone/rectal area. It is very painful at times but then is fine the next day. It feels bruised.
