Emotional rollercoaster

Hi, I had a tah with tube removal 3 weeks ago. I kept my ovaries. Everything seems to be healing beautifully. I am not experiencing much pain or discomfort. I'm trying to keep activities that could potentially hurt my internal stitches to a minimum. Over all, it's going VERY well and I should be very happy. And sometimes I am! But my emotions are just boiling over ... I'm just giddy one minute, then bawling my eyes out the next and have no reason for either emotion. I've started enjoying the moments of feeling complete apathy the most because not caring is so much easier than being too high or two low.

I'm only 36 and seriously should not be near any type of menopausal activity... my doctor left my ovaries so I wouldn't go into menopause. Does anyone else have these overwhelming emotions? How do you deal with it? Will it go away?

Thanks,
Jen

Re: Emotional rollercoaster

Hello , what you are feeling is normal. it will go away. When you feel upset or llike crying. Let it out. sit outside and look at the sky. i kept my ovaries also. so you will continuee to have pms signs and symptoms like before your surgery. So however you handled pms before do it the same now. But if it gets worse talk to someone or go to your dr. Take care and Continue to heal

Re: Emotional rollercoaster

Three weeks was a tough time for me -- I'd been flat on my back for a full three weeks, but still didn't feel at all like myself yet. I started to get a little energy back in the fourth week. So I suspect that, given how well you're recovering, you will start to feel better very soon!

Re: Emotional rollercoaster

They say your ovaries take a nap after your surgery and I believe it. I had horrid hot flashes for like 2 weeks. Thermometer seems to have balanced out but still emotional at 4 weeks.

Re: Emotional rollercoaster

Hi,
I had that too, it is very unsettling and confusing. What I was told was that my ovaries can go into shock after the surgery and it can take time to regulate again. Not sure if that was medical advise as the whole thing a bit of blur one year on but I was very emotional. don't forget it is major surgery and you probably had a general anaesthetic so it takes time for the body to readjust. Hang on in there and keep posting for support. Tears are normal part of it. I wasn't prepared for the emotional impact on me and focussed a lot on the physcial recovery.
Take care of yourself and the advise given by others on PMS symptoms is good advise.
