Wine? Hot Flashes?

Why does wine trigger hot flashes?

I'm 9 weeks post TAH/BSO and doing quite well on Estratest. However, if I have wine (4 oz) at bedtime, I'm awakened at night by a pounding heart and hot feet.

What's going on here? Thanks!

It has been documented that alcohol causes a surge in circulating estrogen (yes, even when you are on hrt and even in men) that lasts for several hours. This hormone fluctuation plus the symptoms of the higher levels of estrogen could account for what you are experiencing. [blue]
