Needing some input ?
hello hystersisters, i have posted before about my bad constipation and fibriod uterus my doctor tell me it is about the size of a 10 week pregnancy now this ultrasound was done sept 2002. i have two questions does the uterus with fibriods grows fast or slow. like i siad mine ultrasound was done sept 2002. i ask my DR was there other test i can take and she she she will do a CT scan. she ask me what i wanted to know and i told her iam concern that i make the right decision about a hysterectomy
i was dx with fibriod uterus, pain irregular bleeding. i don't have alot of irregular bleeding and my pains come and go. but i do have a fibriod uterus which i beleive is causing me to be very constipated for years. My Dr said that my bowel could have be stuck to my uterus do to adhensions. will a CT scan show that? i guess iam just nervous i just want to make the best decesion and not regret it. my Dr said she will not be able to really tell about my bowel problem until the surgery. any advice please or comments.
thanks Honesty

Needing some input ?
I had my annual physical today with my family doctor, and we discussed, among a ton of other things, my constipation and IBS issues. He said that my enlarged uterus could be putting pressure on the bowel and contributing to my constipation, just as it's putting pressure on my bladder and giving me problems there. He did say that the hyst. would not remedy my IBS, but would probably help the constipation.

Needing some input ?
Hi, Honesty!
I'm not sure whether we've talked about this before - but regarding your constipation, have you seen an allergist and dietician? We often have food allergies that cause symptoms identical to yours, and we usually don't think of allergies until well along in the game!
I'd just hate to see you have a surgery for a reason that might not cure your discomfort.
Many best wishes,
Tess
