This LIW is acting verrrry strange....

This is so odd. No other word for it!

I have spent the past weeks - the last 2 especially in "freaking out" mode. Tomorrow's my big day and I figured I would be a basket case by today! Now, just today, I am so calm and relaxed. I'm puttering around the house like it were any other Sunday!

Am I in denial? What is going on here? I'm not complaining.... just questioning my mental status! I don't want it to "hit me" as I walk into the castle tomorrow!!!

Did anyone else do this or should I sit down and have a heart to heart with myself?! Ha! This is so funny! At this rate I will have the best night sleep I've had in months!

Oh the Calmness

I was just like you but surpringingly the day before surgery a calm came over me too. Wishing you the best of luck with your recovery and we will be here when you are up to it. Don't forget the pillow though, especially when you laugh, cough or sneeze!!

Thanks for all the support! Everyone here is so wonderful and supportive. I feel very lucky to have found this site and all you women!

Slept fairly well last night - woke up a few times but more out of concern that I'd oversleep from the time change and not get my DS on the bus.

So... to all the LIW who are still waiting - I wish this unbelievable sense of peace to each and every one of you. I truly thought I'd be alternating between hype mode trying to finish last minute things and the crying mode. But.... instead I could care less how the house looks (it's good enough) and I can't cry.... this feels like my birthday!

Good luck to all! Can't wait to tell you how it feels to wear this crown!

Relaxed

Hi,

I had the same thing happen to me. I had my surgery last Monday and on Saturday I started to calm down and relax. Saturday night for the first time I decided to get a good nights sleep, since I hadn't slept in weeks. On Sunday morning I woke up completely calm and spent the day that way watching movies and stuff. When surgery day came I cried after my dh and I dropped our daughter off for school and when they wheeled me away from my dh and that was it. I was calm, cool and collected. It's amazing how us women have so much strength when it is needed. I had dreams that I would when I got to the hospital and someone would have to keep me from running out the front door. Not the case at all. I'm glad to because the surgery was a breeze!!!!! No need at all for any worries.

My thoughts are with you.

I was so afraid that something was going to happen to postpone my surgery - I was going to get sick, the doctor was going to get sick, the hospital made a mistake etc. etc. etc. that when I walked in the hospital and KNEW it was going to happen I was incredibly calm.
