hormones in an uproar preop...

I had a TAH and BSO plus Burch proceedure 4 weeks ago. I can't tell you what a relief it is for me. It sounds like you are so looking forward to some relief. Yes, the hormones can go nuts before, just like you are experiencing. I too had severe pain before and couldn't believe how much it could hurt. On that day of the big bad pain...I was 3 days away from my surgery. All I can say is that for me even though yes, I did have one really bad depression night after the surgery and it did have it's own pain and new things I wasn't used too; it did get better and better.
I wish you the best, keep reading all the encouraging posts on this list serve. You are almost to the date of your surgery. I'm sure you will figure out whatever it is that will help you the most.
I read ideas to prepare my room for when I got back and bought a few pampering things. One thing that helped too was a heating pad and a basket of things by my bed with bottled water, kleenex, books, flashlight that worked, and lots and lots of pillows. I focused on my return home and it helped me with the day by day wait. If you want or need meds, heck! you deserve what you need. It's your decision and your Docs. I'll say a prayer for you. I remember how I felt like it was yesterday. It sounds like you are in a similar place.
Keep us posted!
