How are all my 4/18 sisters doing?

Hmmm, I started my period last night.... Here I thought that I didn't have to go through this anymore!!!! So now I am going to the oncology clinic for 3 hours tomorrow to get a factor 8 infusion! Better safe than sorry, I suppose. I woke up twice last night vomiting from the period pain. My dh asked me in the middle of the night, if I was going to go through w/ the surgery. This morning my response was " This is an affirmation that this surgery needs to happen and there is a snowballs chance in hell that I am going to back out now!!!! Also, dh is a sensitive supportive man, but he refers to my procedure as having my insides "gutted". I find this to be offensive, but as he is sitting in the waiting room w/ my mother & grandmother I dare him to use this term.... Has anyone had dh act like this? I know that he really is scared. He wants me to do a living will. We have talked about this before and he has already done so. I am a bit nervous, but will be too busy until I get to the castle. I wish all of my sisters good luck and may god be with you all!

I am sorry you are having this awful pain from your cycle right now but soon it will be a thing of the past.

Also sorry to hear your DH is using that term for your surgery. Not to try and analyze him or anything but maybe that is his way of blowing off steam from his own worries. I am sure he wont use that word in a public setting.

Men do tend to handle things alot differently than women do. Mine for example, for the whole week prior to surgery, would barely speak to me. I think he was just nervous and withdrawing was his way of dealing. Sort of like getting it off his mind by keeping busy with other things.

When it came down to the wire, he was back to his caring self and has been fine ever since.

Please try not to let it bother you. I am sure your DH will come back around. I bet he will even surprise you on how great he can be. Mine sure did.

Good luck and best wishes for your castle date!

Many s and ers
