I think I did a No No!!!

I think I did something really dumb today!! I am 12 days post op...and was feeling pretty good today.I realized that our groceries were getting low so I decided to go against doc's orders and drive a few days early.I drove just fine..much like a little ol' lady.I messed up when I tried to help the clerk load my groceries into my car.I had bought an 18 pack of popcorn and it started to fall...without thinking..I twisted and tried to catch it!!! I felt a very sharp pain..one that brought tears to my eyes!! I have been hurting pretty bad since then! I'm worried that I may have torn stitches or pulled something!!When I feel better..I will kick myself in the butt for being so dumb!! Jennifer

I think I did a No No!!!

Don't feel to bad, I made a similar mistake when I was 2 weeks post op. My cat had gotten on my side of the bed right in the place where I was going to lay down. Nothing I did could convince him to move his hinney.........so I picked him up, twisted to the side and gave him a little toss. THEN I remembered that my cat weighs 22 pounds, OUCH. I think we all need to make a mistake in our recovery to remind us to not do it again. I got over my pain from moving the cat in a day, and I think you will find that is true for you too. I wish you the best in your recovery.

I think I did a No No!!!

Hi there!
You sound like me....the minute I started feeling a little better (5 days postop) I tried planting a few bulbs. What an idiot!!! I was so sore and tired. I think it set me back a bit. I learned very quickly that just because you start feeling better, you don't start resuming all your normal activities! I'm about a month post op right now, and feeling really good. I did a few things around the house day before yesterday, and yesterday I felt like I'd worked out in a gym!!! My muscles were sooooooooooo sore!!! No abdominal pain though...thank goodness! But just a reminder, when you do start getting back to your regular duties, be careful. After laying around for a month, our muscles aren't used to being used in a normal way and let us know!!!!
One other thing, remember, YOU ONLY HAVE ONE CHANCE TO HEAL!!! We read this over and over on this website, and it is so important to take it to heart!!! Take very good care of yourself now, and before you know it, you'll be back up and around and better than ever!
Love, Sue =0)

I think I did a No No!!!

I did something stupid yesterday too! I cleaned out a closet. I thought because it was just towels and sheets etc it would not be hard..wrong, I bent wrong and had a sharp pain and was very sore! I took it easy the rest of the day, made sure I took my meds, and went to bed early. I feel it a little bit this morning, but not so bad and I feel I will soon get my back!
I pray you will too!

Hugs
