Reason for Emergency Surgery

My doctor said that at two weeks post op your stitches start to dissolve, well apparently my body wasn't healed yet and I started to hemmorage. So to the other sister that is bleeding do not take it lightly, I waited too long and if I would've waited any longer I may not be here today typing. Better to be safe than sorry. Listen to your body, my doctor told me that again yesterday before leaving the hospital, I am not allowed to do steps or anything else right now. Which is hard I have three flights of steps and 5 kids (my dh has been wonderful) but I think he's tired from being up all night on Sunday when we had to go the ER. Hopefully he can catch up on his rest soon. Things will get better right!!!

Reason for Emergency Surgery

Randi - I still had internal stitches when I went in for my 4 week post op appt...so it does take LOTS of time for them to heal. The most important thing right now is to keep ALL pressure off your internal stitches...which basically means laying around...don't lift anything heavier than the phone, channel changer or glass of water Sitting, walking, going up and down stairs, housework, lifting anything etc. push and pull on all of those stitches...putting LOTS of pressure on them....that continous motion doesn't give them time to heal properly. I know it's hard to do (especially with 5 kids)...but VERY important.

YES, things DO get better. Sending healing thoughts your way.

Reason for Emergency Surgery

Please do take care of yourself, as I myself have 5 children under the age of 12. I overdid things my 2week and paid for it. Luckily, everything is fine now. Take care!
