Swelling & Don't Understand Why?

I was dx with Adenomyosis after appt last Friday. This weekend we did a ton of walking around (trying to find toddler beds for 23 month old twins), and I noticed that my stomach was swelling up. I thought it might have been from the u/s and the tech "digging" around, but now it's still happening.

As the day goes on it gets bigger and bigger... I look like I am pg! The thing I don't understand is why? Since my uterus was only slightly enlarged, as well as my ovaries were only lightly enlarged... anyone know why this is happening? :confuse:

Thanks In Advance,
Carla - Waiting on TVH surgery date for Adenomyosis

Swelling & Don't Understand Why?

I had a doc appt. earlier today and my doc was talking about adeno and endo and compared it to internal bruising. He said if we were to do a hyst during our worst cycle it would look like bruises and would actually ooze.

I may be totally off on that, he did an awful lot of talking and sometimes I only hear one sentence and then I'm spacing the next few.

Swelling & Don't Understand Why?

I'm not sure if your pre op or post op but about the swelling...

For the past two weeks I've had to deal with major swelling in my belly....it gets to feel so heavy and hard. I thought maybe it has something to do with my fibroids blocking off some of my intestines or something and causeing gas buildup.

It does get painful and I can't wait to begin the healing process after my operation tommorow.

Unfortunaltely I haven't found anything to take away the bloating.....sorry

I'm glad that someone else has this problem too. Now I don't feel so alone and can relax a little. I was thinking that it was something else causing me to look about ready to deliver LOL.
I haven't found a way to combat it though, sorry wish I did so I could pass it on.

Swelling & Don't Understand Why?

I also am glad to not be alone in this one. I've noticed on days when i'm in alot of pain, the swelling is worse and my belly is very tender. Just try to take it as easy as you can with twins.

Swelling & Don't Understand Why?

Before I had my hysterectomy my stomach used to swell up and it would feel really hard. I was told that it was the endo and the fibroids, although now I have swelly belly after the surgery, it is nothing to what it was before. You might want to ask if you have endo and could that be the cause of swelling. Good Luck
