Calling all Dec. 19th Sisters

Hello Sisters,

I just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing. I went to pre-op today and I feel a lot better. I had posted a message about pre-op questions because my mind would not function. Well after I gave it a rest, I had 3 pages of questions for the doc. Before I had the chance to ask him any of them, he had already answered them. Definitely makes me feel more confident about him. Anyways, I am now having a bilateral oopherectomy w/ bowel repair done by a laparotomy. So recovery is going to be a long road.

Best of luck sisters!!! I will be sending hugs, thoughts and prayers your way. Just think we will soon be

Hi Shannon! Sounds like you've picked a winner for your doctor.

I did pre-op today too. First time anyone's had to stick me twice for a blood draw, but not too bad. Still working on the ins. co., but I think that'll be fixed up tomorrow.

Check out my "... hands in the air, screaming" post, and add your list of fun stuff you want to do before heading for the castle. I forgot to put it on my list, but I think I'll check one off tonight by getting a good night's rest. I can try out my new jammies.

At pre-op I saw a lady cruising (ever so gingerly) down the hall in her robe and slippers, hauling her IV along. I don't think she spoke English, but she gave me a little wave as she went by, and I gave her a thumbs up. Maybe she's one of our sisters. I also talked to a woman (another patient) who said her hyst, years ago, was the best thing she'd ever done, and she was so happy for me. Very encouraging.

Gotta go get some rest. zzzz z z z z

Alright... I know there's more than just the two of us.

I got final, absolute, unconditional, certain, reliable word this morning that my hyst has been approved by my ins. co. (that part's been a mess). What a weight off my shoulders that is! Now I just have to keep plowing through the to-do list.

How are the rest of the 19th crew holding out?

So glad to hear about your insurance approval. I am a Dec. 18 LIW but I would like to wish all the ladies after me the best of luck on your surgeries and a real speedy recovery.

Hello...sorry took me a while to get here but I am also a Dec 19 liw and have my preop monday. I'm a bit nervous but am ready for relief and ready to get my life back. I am ready to tackle this obstacle head on and get on with my life....with a new feeling called "great"!!!! I wish all of you Dec 19 sisters the best of luck and will continue to pray for all of you and myself. I have received many encouraging words from many of the people I deal with from my office who say it was the best thing that every happened to them. To the kotex and tampax I say FREE AT LAST FREE AT LAST!!!!!!!! Goodbye birthcontrol or should I say bad mood inducer and hormone imbalancer!!! To the pain and discomfort I say to it "HA HA I WIN NOW GET LOST"

(Sorry I'm in a silly mood) I thank you all for everything and to the Dec 19 LIW I will see you on the other side a new woman!!!!! Well after recovery anyway!! lol.

I know how you feel Amy! I heard somebody's doctor gave her a photo of her fibroids and suggested she take it home and throw darts at it. I'm thinking the firing range would be much more fun.

I'll sure be thinking good thoughts for my 19th "Twins" on our crowning day.
