What would you do?!?!?!

Ok ladies, I'm still having problems with the edema and pain despite stopping the NSAIDs and being on the Lasix for a week now. I was suppose to go back to the doc (stop by - didn't have appointment) today and let him know how it was going. I'm caught at work, 45 mins. from his office and won't be able to leave here until about the time he leaves the office. So...I call his secretary to have her let him know this and ask him if he wants me to keep taking the Lasix as I was. She tells me to call her back on TUESDAY MORNING. HUH?! Then she adds for me to not forget because he is leaving Wednesday afternoon for 2 weeks!!!!

I said, "Do you think you could ask him this afternoon considering it might be important TO MY HEALTH?" She said, "I'll try to catch him, but makes sure you call Tuesday."

I am soooooo tempted to go to the ER over the weekend. But then again, my medical assistance may refuse to pay and I might get &#&@!! there too. What would you do????

I would call back and bug the heck outta of his assistant to reach him and say "look I'd really rather not have to go to the ER about this" see if that doesn't motivate her a little? Best of luck!

(((BillsSweetie)))
It really irks me when a doc's assistant presumes to answer for the doctor. I would keep calling back, every 15 minutes if necessary. Any chance you can speak with someone else other than this one gal who is trying to brush you off?

If you don't get to speak with the doc and you begin to feel worse, please don't hesitate to go to the ER. Your health is more important than money my friend.

Oh ((((Bill's))))) I'm so sorry this assistant is giving you such a hard time I agree with the others: keep calling and insist on being put through to him!!! Wait on the line, if you have to: I've had the run around with my DS's doctor one time too many and never got to talk to him before he went on holidays: DS was about to run out of the meds he needs to function!!! Never again!!! I've since found out that it's important to keep calling back, which is something I hate to do: don't like to bug people... but, in this case, it seems they expect it

Best of luck ((((sweetie)))) and please keep us posted.
