Re: Pain after TVH

Bug your dr and his staff... I came home with Tylenol with codine and it barely took the edge off I doubled up during evening hours but stayed awake or slept short intervals... this is my 3rd day dr gave me tramadol and I only take in the evening but feel so much better. Make them listen to you. We can't heal if we r stressed and focused on pain.

I took 600mg motrin and 5mg norco round the clock for the first week. The first two weeks were very painful for me. I did drink lots of water through the day, that helped with swelling, and got me up and out of bed to go to the bathroom often. I'm 4 weeks today from tvh and bladder sling and am still taking a motrin during the day and 1/2 norco at night if I've had a busy day.

Re: Pain after TVH

I have set my phone to remind me to take my pain medicine. Vicodin every 4 and ibuprofen 600 every 6. I also am using a heating pad and took a 2 hour nap today. I think this is helping. I just felt like a wimp since I had heard so many women saying they felt no or little pain. So I think the rest of you sisters for speaking up. I feel better knowing that I am not the only one. Its also hard to depend on hubby who just so happens is having a hectic week this week, and even though he is doing great, he gets impatient at times.

Re: Pain after TVH

i was sent home with 800mg motrin and percocet for pain and yes i am doing good but i am taking the meds ...my doc said to take the motrin round the clock till 2 weeks follow up and take the percocet round the clock till sunday then see how i feel. my tvh was wednesday morning. i am sleeping alot and resting when not sleeping. my doc was very adamant that i dont do anything that could rip a stitch. hubby won't let me do anything .... he says pampering the princess isn't enough he has been dealing with everything.

keep a piece of paper next to your pills so you can write down when you took them last ...so you know when you should take them again.
