Ready for the Funny Farm

I got a call today at noon that the dr had to cancel appt for tomorrow because of an emergency surgery. I went baulistic. I've been waiting for three weeks now for this appt and they call the day before to cancel. They did reschedule it for Friday, but that means more waiting. I thought by this time tomorrow I'd have surgery date. I know this sounds like I'm impatient, but after being in pain each day makes my patience wear thinner. The littliest things seem to set me off. We menopausal women can't take this!
Thanks sistas for letting me vent.

I Can Sort of Understand

Mine went off on time but you get so ready emotionally, accept that this is it, so many days, hours...then a call and... crash. Things go to pot. Then, everything gets mentally reset and you start over...
Closest I've come is that it took THREE tries to get last GYN followup appointment and I won't mention attempt #2 except to say it was so frustrating I called the big group "patient relations" people and complained and boy from the major icy atmosphere on successful (I guess) #3 when I saw the doctor...they forwarded on what I said. But I felt like a piece of meat in a packing plant by then.
Hang in there--hopefully it WILL go as rescheduled--and remember, you're then on the way to recovery!

Thanks

Margaret for your reply. You knew exactly how I felt and that let me know I wasn't a freak. I guess it sounded like I was whinning and maybe I was, but today is a new day, the sun is out and I'm breathing . The disappointed has subsided and now I'm anticipating Friday with fingers crossed they won't cancel again.
If they do cancel . . . oh well, I think about that tomorrow, like Scarlet O'Hara use to say.

Good Luck to you.

I hope they don't cancel on you again. It sure can be frustrating.

You can certainly appreciate the fact that emergencies come up in their world and they have to juggle schedules to address them. But also too sometimes their roles become quite commonplace for them, even though what you're going though is not.

You are definitely not going crazy. It's a difficult time for you right now.

Good luck on Friday!

Hi Bonnie,

I'm so sorry that your appointment was postponed - and I can relate to the menopausal emotional roller-coaster!! I was going through menopause when I had to have my hyst and it didn't take much to make me pretty upset.

Hang in there - it's going to get better soon, I promise.
