PARANOID of the post-op threads - Is it just me?
Hi ActIII: Hugs to you too! And you're right, spending my time worrying about the what ifs is so unhealthy and also very draining. Going forward, despite what I may hear, read and/or think, I'm expecting and trusting God for a successful outcome!

Other than that, I followed my post-op instructions to the letter and if something I wanted to do was not included in the instructions, I waited to ask my doctor instead of just going ahead and seeing if it caused pain.
Now, 3 months later, I still get tired pretty easily and still have to be a little careful about lifting things or getting stuff off high shelves but otherwise, I'm in the pink, eating, sleeping, having sex (not fully back up to speed in that area but it'll come around), and feeling better, physically and emotionally, than I've felt in years.
Remember when you read the post op threads that very few will start a thread to say "Hey, I'm having no trouble" , so most of what you *see* are the threads started by those who are having a hard time.... Sort of the way you'll NEVER hear the news say "Today in the U.S., 42,000 flights were on time and without incident." but if one flight does have an incident, you'll hear about it for days.

Hi DeliaDeLyon: Again, thank you for sharing your experience. This thread was a huge faith strengthener for me. And, you're right about the tendency of humans to focus on the negative - I'll have to keep that in mind when perusing through the post op threads.

Like DeliaDeLyon, I didn't start a lot of threads, but I replied to many. Manily because my recovery was easy and I felt guilty saying how well I felt. I've sense learned that it's just as important to post the good to, so that sisters such ad yourself won't get as scared.
I'm almost one yr post op. Andd I feel pretty good. My surgery went well andd as I said, my recovery was fairly easy. My pain was also manageable. I'm not saying that I didn't have any not so great days, but the good far outnumbered the bad.
So try and stay positive. It goes a long way. Trust that your doctor will do the job that s/he is trained to do and put it in the Lord's hands. You'll be just fine Soon, you'll begin your better quality of life
Lots of ((HUGS)) to you

Hi Wandatd: Thank you so much - sending hugs right back at ya. I think its great how you, DeliaDeLyon and others still post about your experience so that sisters such as myself won't be as scared or frantic. Reading them truly helps to allay and lessen the angst so keep doing what you're doing!!!!

A lot of the threads as well are women who are experiencing normal post op symptoms who are just looking for confirmation they're ok, call it the reassurance factor.
Most women go through the surgery and recovery with very few complications or issues and have a relatively easy recovery.
Some important things to remember post surgery are to compare your progress to yourself not others. Compare how you are doing with how you felt the day/week before. Try to remain positive, it's amazing what a positive attitude can do for your healing. Lastly and most importantly, follow your docs orders! A lot of post op issues arise because we often feel good and forget to take it easy thinking we are doing well and this can lead to set backs, I did this myself at one point. Rest up, eat well, and just take care of yourself while healing. We only get one chance to do this right.
Good luck

Hi Loreyr: Thank you so much for your insight and well wishes. You are so right -- attitude is half the battle and a positive one always breeds positive results!!!!
