shopping post-hysterectomy

Hi Everyone,

I'm planning to buy pants/leggings and would like to know if I should buy a low-waist or high-waisted pants?

In other words, am I supposed to cover the incisions with the pants or not?

Please help!

I went for higher waists (even a pair of maternity leggings!) I wanted comfort

High waist works better! My lower rise still hit me in a place that is uncomfortable. I have on high waist jeans today and feel comfortable.

I think it depends on how you are shaped, but high waist (or no waist!) is the most comfortable for me. I have been living in a pair of yoga pants that have a wide waistband that provides a little support but isn't too tight.

For me low rise pants that hit under my incisions are the most comfy.......my exercise pants (yoga/running tights) are the most comfy of all!!! Most of my jeans (even the lower/mid rise variety) hit me in between incisions so they tend to irritate me.

I have been wearing elastic pajama type pants..underwear have been folded down under the incisions (robot assisted laproscopic) Right after surgery all pants were worn under the incisions...now the underwear are under... the pants over...I know..not helpful but you might want to go for a larger size so you have options...nothing tight over the incisions...

I ended up buying low-waisted pants...I have 3 of 5 of my steri-strips out, but is it weird to still want to cover the incisions with band-aid? Maybe that's why most of you are suggesting I get a high-waisted pants instead?

High waisted worked better for me. I didn't want to chance any low abdominal pressure at all.
