Can't come any sooner!!

Can't believe this. Tomorrow I head to the Castle for a LAVH or possible TAH due to four large fibroids. I started my period today, cramps are getting worse and sometime tonight I will start gushing.

Does anyone know if this will be a problem? I figure it will be fine since they are removing the problem tomorrow. But, I also wondered if it is ok to take ibuprofen the before surgery, specifically before anesthesia. Don't know if I can rest tonight due to the pain of cramps without ibuprofen or something, would even take tylenol, just to take the edge off.

Can't wait to get this done. I have no second thoughts as my body is telling me yet again to get this done.

Re: Can't come any sooner!!

Hi Sandi!

As far as I know, Tylenol doesn't cause the bleeding that ibuprofen does...so I think it's fine to take. But just to be on the safe side, call the hospital where you're having your surgery and ask one of the nurses.

I wish you all the best!

Hugs,

Jo-Jo

Re: Can't come any sooner!!

Thanks wsea, I was thinking the same thing. I prefer ibuprofen but so far I am just toughing it out, not really well but I would rather not take anything just to be safe, I want the surgery tomorrow. I may break down and take tylenol before bed.

Re: Can't come any sooner!!

When in doubt, ask your doctor! I know it's a bummer but I also know how picky some are. Call them up and have the answering service page them.
