Hello Again

I need some advice here. I have to go tomorrow for a ultrasound to see why my uterus is inlarged. The doctor said if he didn't find anything bad that he could do a d&c on me or there was a shot that he could give me to stop my bleeding completely. I have been having problems a long time. Does anyone know about this shot he is talking about giving me? Has anyone had it done before ?

Has anyone had any sucess with the d&c surgery ?

Hello Again

Hi -

I had a D&C and Hysteroscopy in December 1999 and the same procedures in November 2000. Neither helped in the least. I was also put on b/c pills (two different kinds for 6 months). Nothing made the bleeding stop or even lessen. In fact, it just seemed to keep getting worse. I hope you have different results.

I have no idea what kind of shot your doctor might be talking about. Let us know when you find out.

We're the HYSTERS, remember

All opinions stated below are my own and are not intended as medical advice.

Hi Marie

I also have had the procedure you're talking about, plus shots and more, without success. HOWEVER, please remember that there are successes with those treatments and the women who have them usually don't hang around here. Most of the women on this site are here because they are either waiting for or recovering from a hysterectomy after having gone through unsuccessful treatments, for the most part.

It depends on what is causing your problems as to whether or not treatment will be successful. Let's hope you have something that is treatable. It happens.
