Home from the Castle

First off I'd like to say thanks for all the prayers. I could feel them working the morning I got up for surgery. I normally would have been crying and shaking. I was pretty calm, but nervous. They moved my time from 12 to 10am which was better. I arrived to check in and they put my wrist band on and waited 15 min. Then they checked temp, blood pressure and gave me something for gas and acid in stomach and put me in a waiting room. My mom and DH went with me. I changed into a gown and got in a warm bed to wait for about an hour, then they gave me a shot that was supposed to calm me and make me sleep. Wrong! It calmed me , but wide awake. 20min later rolled me to holding room. Wide awake. 30min rolled me to operating room. Wide awake and I asked when they were gonna knock me out, please! Well, I guess they did, cause the next thing I remember is seeing my DH and mom looking at me in the room and the nurse telling me how to push that little button. I hurt , but was fine. I had demeral. Well, laying in the bed with the catheter was easy Hard part was getting up the next morning. Nausea set in when I tried to get up, thought I was going to pass out and the only bad nurse I had the whole time was that morning! I finally got something for the nausea and was able to rest then get up, which was really hard. My legs felt wobbly like I was learning to walk again, and weak. But I progressed at a very fast pace. The pressure from having to pee was most uncomfartable and lasted a couple of days. It still is when I have to gol Just go, and feel better. It gets faster and faster each time. Getting in and out of bed is also very hard. You feel like a turtle on its back, very frustrating. Gets easier with each dayl This is my 4th day and I do fine on my own now.
My DD said she got a surprise when she looked in the scope. There was severe endometreosis everywhere. What was thought to be a solid mass in my ovary was my ovary adhered to the wall and endo all around the ovaries which had looked like cysts in the ultrasound. The endo was on the tubes, bowels, uterus, cervix, rectum,ect.......... Also, another form of the endo family inside the uterine lining. Fibroids were large from being covered with endo. No way to do a vaginal. So I have the bikini cut and the cut at the naval. Everything is fine, I'm going to feel soooo much better, and I think I'm doing great. Yes, walk SOME, but rest, rest, rest,. Wasn't it sweet of my husband to bring me his lap top? This is a rest time. I take a couple of naps a day and sleep a lot a night. I'm still on a bland diet until next Friday when I go back to see the doctor, who was wonderful , as was the rest of the nursing staff at Womens Hospital of Texas! My doctor has pictures to show me and will explaine everthing to me Friday. I'm looking forward to finding out the details.. Good luck to all the LIW and I'll see you on the other side!

HI,

Glad that your doing well and all. I am also glad that your mentioned Laptop. You made my day. I had forgotten hubby has a laptop. All my other surgeries, Hubby moved the computer for me next to my bed. But in our new place it wouldn't be possible, and I was bumming because I was going to be without one(Online Addict(G))..... Now I can just use his laptop. Wonder if they allow them in the hospital(G).... Hope your recovery continues smoothly.
