Urodynamics tomorrow and just got my period!

Can this be any more humiliating?

I've been through urodynamics before, so I know what's involved. My hysterectomy is scheduled for 1 week from today, so it's not like we can delay this.

Just got my period today, and because of my severe prolapse, both my cervix AND uterus are outside of me. So there's no ability to wear a tampon or even a menstrual cup or anything.

I am so embarrassed. Is there any reason to call the office to tell them? Would there be a reason they couldn't do urodynamics because of this? Has anyone else ever had urodynamics with a full flow period? UGH!!! 35 years of bleeding isn't enough, it's got to go out like this, right?! I haven't had a period in MONTHS.

I'm so sorry you got your period at the worst time! I would call your doctor to check but I am sure they see things like this all the time. You won't be the first or last lady who has her period for this test. I know it is embarrassing but these are medical professionals and they've seen it all.

I called the office and the doctor said it would be fine.

Sooooo happy to be done with periods in a week. SO HAPPY. Had it since I was 10 years old.

Just back from the urodynamics. It wasn't anywhere near as bad as I thought, they were COMPLETE professionals and put me at ease and even made me laugh a few times.

Yay. There is some kind of law that says you have to have one last period at the least convenient time. Glad it went well. They really do understand that its not how you would choose it to happen.
