4 weeks and pain on the right side

Hi,

Today marks the 4 week anniversary of my surgery. I've been feeling mored tired this week than last. I really don't think that I overdid it. I'm paying attention to my body, and I'm resting for most of the day. I've noticed that when I get up and move around a bit, I feel a pain in my lower right abdomen. From the beginning, most of my pain has been there. In fact, I remember one instance at about 1 1/2 weeks when I had a very sharp pain there that lasted more than a few seconds. Do any of you remember how you felt at the 4 week mark? Is it normal to still feel pain?

I've had to depend on Ambien every night since the week before surgery (except in the hospital). I'd love to stop taking it, but even with it, I don't sleep well. I cut my 10 mg pill in half and take half at 10:30 or so. When I wake up in the night, I take the other half. I have to be aware of the time in the middle of the night. 12:30 is too soon for the second half, although I'm often awake by then. If I take the other half after 3:30 a.m., I don't feel well the next day.

I haven't had any hot flashes--just night sweats. After visiting a gynecological endocrinologist on Monday, I began the lowest dose of the Vivelle patch yesterday. I hope that will help my insomnia and my lack of concentration.

Any comments would be deeply appreciated! This is my number one source of info.

4 weeks and pain on the right side

I am 5 weeks post op today and I am still getting pains, sharp one, burning, sometimes like a hot dagger on both sides. I still have my overies and tubes, The dr said I have a bleed in my right tube from coughing, but sees nothing on the left side. So I am sure a lot of it is just the normal healing.

I also have trouble sleeping I think it is caused from having to get up to pee so many times and the terrible pain in the bladder when I go, then I have trouble falling back to sleep.

4 weeks and pain on the right side

i'm 5 weeks this past monday. i too have a pain in my right side which is worse when walking. the doctor told me it was inflammation around some of the stitches and to use hot moist compresses on the area. that does seem to help some for me.

also week 4 i suddenly realized i was just exhausted all the time. you feel a bit better so you are moving around more, hopefully walking more and so you tire out as your body is still healing. a friend of mine who is a marathon runner told me that your body recoups and repairs while you sleep, so i'm guessing your need for rest is your body saying, "hey...i'm still healing here!!". :-)

if the pain is really bothering you, call your doctor...if nothing else it will give you peace of mind.

here's wishing you a quick recovery. :-)

4 weeks and pain on the right side

I have a pain on my left side of my incision. I am 4 wks today as well. About the same time as you, I felt that sharp feeling. I wonder if it is nerve memory and want to ask my dr what side he started to cut on.

4 weeks and pain on the right side

my biggest complaint is abdominal pain. I'm glad I have my sisters here to vent to. my DH thinks i"m a hypocondriac....really.he thinks I'm nuts. If the dr said u should be ok by 6 weeks u should be,thats that in his mind. I take ambien also to sleep. I have been an insomniac for years. If I didn't take one I would be up all nite. Ihave my post op tomorrow so I'll post all my boring details.
