My symptoms seem to be different??

I am a little confused ...after reading many of your entries, I see that one of the main symptoms you share is heavy bleeding. I started my period when I was 9 years old. I have had severe cramps since I was 10 and did have heavy bleeding for most of my life since then. However, the last year everything has changed. My pain has gotten 10 times worse and the bleeding is getting lighter and not lasting as long. My pain sometimes lasts longer than the bleeding. Also, I used to have a lot of big clots...now almost none, every couple of months. The last few months I have noticed that my BM's causes the same pain as my periods do (sometimes even hotflashes ). Sometimes I leave the bathroom so exhausted from the pain, I feel like I was in labor. My DR says my uterus is large and has a small fibroid and I may have endo. I am being scheduled for my uterus to removed Vaginally, but if they see something more they will have to do an abdominal. I just want to know if anyone else has these symptoms? Maybe I dont need a hyster?

My symptoms seem to be different??

You sound like me! My periods used to be atrocious w/ bleeding, clots, etc. but have actually gotten better in that respect. My main problem is pain. I do have multiple fibroids w/ about a 14 week size uterus. While I do have my hyst. scheduled, I'm still researching and sometimes wonder if it's the best thing for me. Of course, the fibroids aren't getting any smaller anytime soon probably, (I'm 39) so it may be best just to get it done now as opposed to when they're larger.

Sorry I have no answers, but you're not alone in your situation! I look forward to seeing what others say.

My symptoms seem to be different??

Hi Witchiepoo !!!!! (cute name !!)
From reading here and my experience it seems everyones symptoms is different. I was basically with no symptoms or so I thought til Jan or so when the rectal pressure set in.....I have the same experience in the bathroom......my gyno JUST made me go thru a colonoscopy last fri to be sure all was OK up in that area.
I ahve fibroids (a LOT and BIG) and my uterus is 4-5 month pregnancy size.......so I guess it is squeezing everything out in there !!!
You did NOT mention your age but maybe your lighter bleeding is because peri -menopause??? I dunno.....I am 51 and supposidly in peri-meno stage but last night I woke up blood soaked so guess this will be the last period from hell !!!!!
I never really bled a lot til 2-3 years ago and would just have EXTRA heavy bleeding on my 2-4 days......
Hope this helps

Nice to know I am not alone

I am so glad I am not alone. I am 36 years old. I had my daughter 9 years ago, after being told I could not have any babies due to scaring. My uterus is a 15 week size ? Not sure what a normal size would be. I am scheduled now for surgery at the end of June. Dr says that she thinks my left ovary is large and may be what is causing all of the BM pain. Question...is your pain on the lower left side (like where your tummy and leg meet?) and go to your back? I too am doing a lot of research and will let you know if I find anything interesting. Thanks for the replies!! I send you both a big

Hi everyone!

I have a similar problem and my Dr. suspects endo. But he also said my ovaries are acting inconsistanly. Some months my flow is heavy and my pain is less. Then I will have a period that is light flow and even stops and starts but the pain is terrible!
He said what is happening to me is that all the build-up lining on my uterus that is supposed to be shed every month is not always shedding all of it. So the months that it is really flowing with a lot of clots I guess I am cleaning house!

My symptoms seem to be different??

Thank you for the info...every little bit helps. Until now I thought maybe it was something else that was wrong. I get the same thing every couple of months. The Dr told me that it may be bleeding to the inside, maybe a blockage not letting anything thru. All I know is that it is bad enough to have pain once a month...I can not handle everytime I use the restroom. Thanks again!
