Re: 2 weeks Post OP and Exhausted

at 2 weeks i was still sleeping alot and couldn't sit up for very long periods because of the soreness... so i'm thinking that the movie might've done you in... even though it doesn't seem like much, sitting upright is using all the muscles that have been cut and are healing... the fatigue is totally normal and may last for awhile... listen to your body and rest when it needs it...

Re: 2 weeks Post OP and Exhausted

Like my wonderful nurse at the hospital told me when I was discharged, keep in mind while you were in the hospital they did everything for you!! Cooking, cleaning, laundry, bed making etc etc! When you get home you tend to start doing a few things that don't seem like much but during your healing process wear you out. I agree, sitting up for an extended time is hard on you.
I am 7 weeks today and still play out fairly fast.
Be careful and enjoy this time of healing! How often are we allowed to sit and do nothing?? We only get one chance to heal right!

Re: 2 weeks Post OP and Exhausted

normal recovery yo yo! I am impressed you were out and about already. I was still on heavy pain meds even at the 2 week mark, and had only ventured out maybe twice, and that was for short periods of time.

Now at almost 8 weeks, I have several really good energy low pain days, and then crash for a couple of days....then back to good days, then crash for a couple of days...

pace yourself...and i hope your recovery continues to be uneventful!

Loves the ocean, that is what I do to! Seems to go in spurts! I don't need the pain meds, just the exhaustion! Looking forward to "normal" days ahead!

Re: 2 weeks Post OP and Exhausted

yeah, pain meds are rare now, except for some advil daily....the heavy stuff, only a night on a rare occasion, and usually just half of one does the trick!
