18 days post daVinci Hyst

Feels like I got hit by a truck! I think I overdid it yesterday but going over the day I don't think I did anything crazy.

Rode in the car for a total of about 2 hours and did some walking around the house. Yet today I feel like my insides are SUPER loose, I'm lightheaded, and tender all over my belly.

Anyone have any ideas or feel this way? I was hoping to go back to work this week but unfortunately don't see that happening.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Really regretting the surgery today.

Re: 18 days post daVinci Hyst

I am 14 days post-op DaVinci...

On Saturday, I finally went for a few rides in the car... Probably an hour total. Walked around a couple of grocery stores, DIDN'T lift anything or push a cart. I tried to be very good, even though I felt like I could do more. (I did bend down to reach for something once... Bad me!)

Yesterday, I felt EXTREMELY tired and dizzy. I guess it was just a reaction from overdoing it the day before. I wouldn't worry too much, just know that when you feel good, you STILL need to pace yourself or you'll pay for it the next day!

Good luck in your recovery!

Re: 18 days post daVinci Hyst

I am 20 days post op and feel crummy today. I really thought I would be feeling great by now. Truthfully, if I do absolutely NOTHING, I feel fine. But who can really do nothing? My husband travels every week, and I still have to take kids to school, wash clothes,do dishes, buy groceries, put them away, etc. or we'll be living like the people on "Hoarding: Buried Alive". If I walk for to long, which is not very long, or put clothes away, I start to ache and twinge and have more of that pinkish brown discharge. Lovely, I know, but better than a period. I don't know when I'm going to feel normal again, but it obviously is going to take a lot longer than I ever imagined. Good luck to you hyster sister. You are SO not alone.

Re: 18 days post daVinci Hyst

I'm guessing the 3 week sucks. I was laid low on my third week, too. I had been walking and everything, but spent 2 days on the couch with my legs elevated because of bleeding. Rest easy. Because of the bleeding I didn't get to go back to work until April 29, week 4.

Re: 18 days post daVinci Hyst

Oh yes, how could I forget the lovely discharge! . Ok. I actually feel loads better knowing this isn't just happening to me. My doc said that he had someone go back to work after a week so I may not need all 6 weeks of typical recovery time. Ha! This definitely isn't as easy as I thought it was going to be.

Thanks for your support ladies!

Re: 18 days post daVinci Hyst

I had the davinci 12/20/12 uterus and cervix out kept my 2 ovaries. I so know how you are all feeling. A month after the surgery when I was feeling just a bit better bam I got a horrible stomach virus ended up in ER was horrible and I looked 9 months pregnant. it didn't help my recovery. I would feel better for a week or so and then bam again feeling like u are all feeling. I had to go back to work after 2 weeks I felt awful I sit at a desk but sitting would even hurt my right lower area just awful. driving even hurt I would drive straight home change in to pjs get in bed heat under my butt and ice pak on my lower belly. at 3 months I started to feel a little better and then 2 weeks after that set back again really bad pains on my lower right area and under my right blade. I had ultra sound for the liver and the kidneys thankfully they came back negative. I have been finally feeling better for the past week straight, only in the evenings when I get home from work I am very tired and my lower right side hurts I still have to do the heath pad and ice gel pack this is the best to make my belly feel better and motrim after dinner. also muscle relaxer 2 times a week and in between .5 Xanax to help me sleep and I think the muscle relaxer and Xanax help with my bladder when it starts to hurt at times I think it bladder spasms. I can say I do feel better than you all do now so it does get better.

since I got this surgery on and off my family hears me say God I wish I had not gotten this surgery. So you are not alone. but my husband says u had no choice you were in a lot of pain and I say its like I traded one pain for the other. but from the stories I hear here I had to do it I would just have kept getting much worse.

So we just have to hang in there and pray that we continue to get better. yes we have to take it easy for me even bending the wrong way without realizing brings on hurt for several days.

I am scheduled for a vaginal ultrasound to see that there are no cysts but I am scared that it will hurt since finally I am beginning to feel better. ultrasound scheduled for this Thursday but I might just move it.

My clothes from before do fit me just at the end of the day my belly swells but it is getting less swollen not as big in the evenings its just a long process.

Big hug to all.

Re: 18 days post daVinci Hyst

I would take half a Xanax before that ultrasound. That's what I did, and mine was before the surgery! If anything was going to be inserted in me at this stage, I would need some comfort through chemistry, lol.

Re: 18 days post daVinci Hyst

I'm right there with you all! I'm almost a month post op and my biggest complaint is how quickly I tire and cramp. I'm on my last week off work and while I'm bored and kind of ready I'm also scared! I wish I was one of the few who bounced back right after surgery but no such luck. I've had 2 ER visits in 1 week and a trip to the doctor. I'm still occasionally taking pain meds. I agree with lucero, I feel like I've traded one pain for another. But hey, on the bright side no more periods right?! We gotta see a positive somewhere.
