3 weeks post hysterectomy

Hi everyone. I have never been active on here. I find it a hard site to navigate on my phone. But I got an email saying I should post about my recovery, and I thought i would.
I joined a group on FB before I had my op, and it seemed to be mostly woman from America. I read countless horror stories about their ops and recovery, it was enough to make me want to cancel my op. It was extremely off putting. I'm from Australia, and thankfully found another group for Australian woman.
I have a fantastic recovery! I spent 3 days in hospital after my op, came home and it was almost business as usual. I've had minimal pain and have been walking 5 km every day since I came home. I've been doing house work since week 2 PO. And yesterday and today I mowed the lawns.
The only reason I posted this, is because there are far too many horror stories, and woman need to hear that it's not always bad! That there are woman who can have a text book op and recovery! You will get through it and don't restrict yourself too much. Nothing has changed after your op, you just need to do things a bit more slowly to ensure you don't hurt yourself.

Re: 3 weeks PO

Hi Andowen, I glad that you're having a great recovery, and glad you posted about it! As you said, people who run into complications are more likely to post looking for support/answers, and without people posting their positive stories, people would think that most people have dire complications, a lot of pain, etc. hope you continue to do well!
